I am from golden-brown stuffed teddy bears
from my parents and grandparents teachers blood,
I am from the rocks and mountainsides at Lake Arrowhead
(Hard, cold, it hurt when it scraped me)
I am from cheese pizza, pumpkin pie, and lemon cake.
From the black, squishy scar on my brother's knee.
The shoes my brother wore to walk across the glass
I am from these memories,
Taken when I was young,
Before I leave and venture out beyond the yard.
